Announcing auditions for James and the Giant Peach at Windham Theatre Guild!
Auditions will be held June 15 & 16, 2026, 6:00 – 9:00 PM
Callbacks, if needed, will be held on June 18th by invitation only.
We are seeking actors age 9-17, casting 20-22 roles!
Rehearsals will take place Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays (with possibly a Sunday here and there) beginning at the end of July.
Actors will be provided a short side to read as multiple characters (their interpretations) and will be given a short choreography routine.

Principal Character Breakdown:
James
A lonely young boy who lacks confidence. Having lost both his parents in a freak accident, he feels he belongs nowhere in the world. However, when given the right encouragement he becomes resourceful and innovative.

Ladahlord
A strange, magical storyteller. Appears occasionally throughout the story, in disguise, to help push the action forward.

Spiker
James’ mean aunt. A thief and a scoundrel. Shrewd and opportunistic.
Vocal range top: E5
Vocal range bottom: F#3
Sponge
James’ other mean aunt. Also a thief and a scoundrel, but not nearly as bright as her sister. She often has her mind on food.

Spider
A normal spider who has become human-sized after eating a crocodile tongue.

Grasshopper
A wizened grasshopper who has become human-sized after eating a crocodile tongue.

Centipede
An ornery centipede who becomes human-sized after eating a crocodile tongue.

A motherly ladybug who has become human-sized after eating a crocodile tongue.
